About JoyfulConsiderations

I’m Amanda, founder of JoyfulConsiderations. For more than 15 years, I’ve worked behind the scenes of businesses - building teams, managing operations, improving processes, and helping organizations grow. With a background in psychology, an MBA, and hands-on experience supporting small, large, and family-owned businesses, I bring both the people and business sides of operations together.

Today, I primarily work with small and growing AEC firms, helping architects, engineers, builders, and consultants strengthen the business behind their work.

Why JoyfulConsiderations?

Joy is my middle name and a nickname I was given as a child. It stuck—and eventually became part of how I approach my work.

I believe business decisions deserve to be thoughtfully considered. Whether it’s when to hire, how to improve profitability, or what needs to change to support growth, I help owners understand their options, build stronger systems, and confidently determine what comes next.

Behind The Business

Most business owners started their firms because they’re great at what they do—not because they wanted to manage staffing, finances, systems, and operations. That’s where I come in.

You focus on what you do best. I’ll help you thoughtfully consider the business behind it.

Outside The Office

When I'm not working with businesses, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, children, and dog, exploring Minnesota, getting involved in our community, or working alongside my husband—an architect—which has given me an especially close look at the opportunities, challenges, and occasional chaos that come with running a small AEC practice.
